I’m not sure if you saw this, but I’ve been following Gavin’s case and it gives me hope.

I’ll chip in for a round.
Actually, they do care if you were raped in certain ways and/or certain relatives are involved. BUT WAIT! Also if you’re going to die (j/k you know you should choose to give your life for your child anyways). /s
There aren’t words to cover the RAGE I felt reading his little note. Nope.
We do the auto-donation thing. Also Emily’s List, just so someday there will be no need to.
I used to be a big fan of hers. 2016-2017 is depriving me of a lot of my heroes. Thankfully there are plenty of strong women to look up to.
I can relate to what you’re saying. You’re definitely providing a great example on how to be positively introspective (hopefully that makes sense). I struggle having conversations about abuse and you are so intelligent about it.
At first I was a bit riled by your statement, but then I realized you’re right. Physical abuse is more complicated. As a society in general, physical punishment in all forms is viewed as abuse. For a long time though, corporal punishment was (and still can be) viewed as loving and necessary to teach children. So it’s…
This was helpful for me, also. Thank you for sharing.
I agree with you. I just want to say that this discussion is very helpful for me right now, so thank you.
Very true and I agree. I have a great deal of concern for all those affected by the abuse. I hope that all survivors get everything they need to find safety, security, and love in their lives.
I guess, if you like being reminded that you’re a big ol’ loser. Some people are into that kind of thing.
Me too.
Me too.
Interesting, because that’s our conflict. I don’t think our society is at the point yet where we can leave out <the issue> as a motive. It feels nice to feel that *we* don’t see the need for trans in ‘trans woman’ though, you know?
I guess I replied to the wrong person somehow? I apologize.
It’d be funny if I weren’t having constant panic attacks during this administration.
Yes, because Democrats have the challenge of trying to pass progressive policies while the other side is actively fighting to roll back rights and progress. See: stop-and-frisk, voting rights, LGBT rights, bathroom bills, abortion, healthcare, school vouchers, etc etc etc.
What makes Conservatives around here so scary is how they are perfectly nice people until all of a sudden, WHAM! Super inappropriate comment. And then I just sit there stunned, thinking “What the bleep just happened? Did they really just say that?!”
I COMPLETELY forgot about that. I love and hate you for reminding me of that. The first time, I grasped my husband’s arm in horror, asking if Trump was about to lunge at Obama. Even people at Trump’s table look uncomfortable. Though everyone else is roaring with laughter. Trump has no sense of humility or humor.
