We’re always short of Spec Ed Teachers and nurses. Those jobs pay well and have decent benefits. A lot of metros are also short train engineers, ferry captains, and bus drivers. Why won’t people take those jobs? I teach Spec Ed amnd make over $120,000 plus bennies

Why does there need to be? In decent states, teachers receive fair wages and good benefits. In NJ, I made 85k and and solid benefits. I moved to WA and make 120k with even better benfits. Why should I strike because people in states like OK, SC, and MS refuse to vote in their interests?
I’ve been a union member (NEA/NJEA/WEA) and The Dems have been my firend and champion much more than The FOP and construction unions have been. The idea that all unionis share common interests is a bit silly.

Why not ask the husband to pull his weight? I drop and pick-up the kids, cook them dinner, help with homework and prep them for bed because it makes more sense. When my wife worked different hours, she did more of it. There’s no reason not to split the work
