Sympathy for the Devil at the beginning was such a cliche to indicate the 60s is such a cliche. Patrick Willems talks about it extensively in this video. That part felt weird and should likely have just been the Indiana Jones theme by Williams.

so is this also a quiet announcement that taika waititi’s is dead and buried? we all knew it was coming but if they’re saying the rey movie is gonna be the first theatrical one back...

Not only is this the first one without Spielberg directing, it’s also the first without George Lucas getting a story credit.

The sequel trilogy, Solo, Andor, and The Mandalorian have shown that Star Wars should be TV series only.

Fascinating. Fifty-ish years on this planet and this is the first time I have ever reacted to news of a new Star Wars movie with a brief shrug and casual indifference. What a strange feeling.

My partner also insists on watching them. The most charitable review I can give these remakes is they do a good job of making me wish I were watching the originals.

Some good shots, but... painful.

Y’all really need to revisit the cast listing. Cara Dune is decidedly no longer a part of this show.

This episode felt like it belonged on something on the CW. Intro and outro advance the “arc” while the actual body of the episode is just another quest of the week. This show is starting to feel a little low budget to me, which is a shame.

Just how much should a teacher get for being shot because their administration refused to support her and ignored violent incidents? And because our society does not actually give a crap about teachers because we are suppose to martyr ourselves for the children (or, in your case, for the school district that allowed

I have (had) SO many questions about this incident.

Why...are the parents not being investigated/sued? I mean, I know they said they practiced responsible gun ownership and the weapon was secured, etc., but, SOMEHOW the toddler (TODDLER) got past all that security, got his hands on the weapon and brought it to school.

I hope this woman gets a dump truck full of money for having to endure this bullshit. I’d love to think those parents would be stripped of their firearms, but we know that’s not going to happen.

That scene was so tense for me -- I was convinced the club was going to get raided.

NPR reported this morning that there will be no fingerprinting and no mugshot.  Were they inaccurate?

I’m literally just checking in here, but is this show so far worth watching? It’s been on my list for a while and I value the opinion of my fellow commenters here.

Also I admire the producers of Mason for their verisimilitude but they got that lesbian bar wrong historically. (So does Ryan Murphy... always) But they did borrow from the early 50's. There was a bar owned by a fine singer, Beverly Shaw called Club Laurel that she would sing at. And it was upscale to a degree.

“They” already do this to us all the time. Every person in this country can, and does, go to jail for far less than this sack of shit will ever do.

Two of the stars of Encino Man have acting Oscars.

I just love telling people that the star of Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead has a writing Oscar.

That’s really well written for an eleven year old, but kids today are way smarter than I was.
