Agreed. The return of CSI was predicated on each new season having a long arc about one criminal/crime, and the entire show suffered from it. Well, with CSI Vegas, the cast is not very good IMHO. Same goes for Law and Order Organized Crime, but this time it has a very good cast. I’m hoping it works better for Criminal…

Not to be alarmist, but every broadcasting network and streaming platform does this since the invention of TV a hundred years ago.

HBO Japan did Miss Sherlock, a version with a female Sherlock, played by Yuko Takeuchi. It was eight episodes, six of which were okay, but it didn’t end very well. Sadly Miss Takeuchi took her own life two years ago.

There are 5-6 languages spoken by the main characters, which was confusing. I’m not sure that contributed to the overall success or failure of the show. If it was trying to attract audiences all over the world, then that was a bad idea. No other show does that.

I thought of The Matrix, which was 100 times better.

Agree. A kids’ show with better writing than the entire second season of Picard. Great theme music and not dumbind down for kids. Really recommended.

1899 vs Glass Onion. Good comparison. I didn’t care much for Knives Out but I enjoyed Glass Onion. Casting was a big draw, and Rian Johnson didn’t need to split up the story into six-eight episodes and a cliffhanger finale.
