Hahaha, you're precious! =)

Whatever happened to good Christian media! Where can a devout follower of Christ go these days!

Well, you're right about one thing: unfunny racist jokes are DEFINITELY on brand for Bill Maher.

Including the "Snarky Tumblr Remark" free space, I totally got whiny Bingo on this comment alone!

Yeeeeah, if you thought you were liberal but you're pissed you can't make racist jokes anymore, I don't know how liberal you really were.

Baby Driver 2: All Grown Up

COMMENTARY

Throw Dustin Hoffman and Leonard Cohen in there for good measure. I'm not entirely sure they're all different people.

Baby Driver is excellent, definitely Wright's best since Hot Fuzz. And he deserves a bona fide commercial success!

Jokes.

No no, you've got the wrong director. Event Horizon was directed by the Boogie Nights guy.

It was my favorite movie of his until The Fantastic Mr. Fox. It's still easily my favorite of his live-action movies. I think Anderson tends to retread the same themes and characters in most of his movies, but he does it very well, and The Life Aquatic is the best iteration of that template.

David Farenthold found the source of that barcode. There's a Photoshop tutorial from 2010 that uses faking a Time magazine cover that has that exact same barcode on it. You can find it here:

Yeah, that's more what I was getting at: it's just sort of assumed you like Star Wars and The Beatles. Because honestly, who doesn't?

Saying you're a fan of Star Wars is like saying you're a fan of The Beatles.

No one can possibly say they're beneath Ron Howard: the man has now directed THREE Dan Brown adaptations.

He's kind of the perfect choice. Respected name, abundantly competent director, and no discernible style to get in the way!

As I understand it, the entire idea to even HAVE an MCU was partially Wright's, and he put in a lot of work behind the scenes making it a reality. I think THAT'S the big reason so many people were upset when he pulled out of Ant-Man, because not only was it a passion project for Wright, but the whole MCU kinda was.

Why would it have? Ant-Man still made a lot of money and got good reviews. Marvel didn't experience any negative consequences.

How on earth does Guardians of the Galaxy break the punch-and-explosions mold? It has more jokes, that's it. Otherwise it is entirely within the tone and style of the rest of the MCU. And James Gunn wasn't a very distinctive director to begin with, people just keep convincing themselves he was after the fact so they
