Yeah, if you're going to defend whitewashing, maybe don't cite John Wayne playing Genghis Khan as an example— it's widely regarded as one of the most racially insensitive major movies roles in American film.

If anything, it's easier to resist when it's as obvious as it is with JonTron. What's more insidious is the white supremacy that pervades all of pop culture and advertising. It's harder to teach your kids to interrogate all of their media and question the things that you normally take for granted. A guy straight up

This was one issue I had with the movie: the ending of Rogue One never should've matched up so perfectly with the beginning of Star Wars, it was way too gimmicky. It also doesn't make a ton of sense, time-wise.

I'd watch all of Bill Nye's shows a hundred times before I cared about The X-Files (which I still like). Trade up for me, especially since it's a new show.

It's even better than Prince actually being named Prince. He was destined for his career.

Thelonious Monk should really get sowriting credit for "Cruella de Vil" from 101 Dalmatians, that song is a straight up rip off of "Ba-lue Bolivar Ba-lues-Are" from Brilliant Corners. It bothers me there was no copyright infringement lawsuit.

Who parties by smoking weed? I just like to sit at home and chill out.

Is this why Artie Lange is such a huge fucking asshole?

I think theaters are on the opposite course as airlines: going from packing in the seats to have as many available as possible, to spreading it out to give people better experience.

Here's where theaters are innovating: full lounge experience, with reclining chairs, full service menu, etc. It's recreating your comfortable living room, but in a legitimate theater with a giant screen.

I love the way that Breath of the Wild is clearly drawing from almost every entry in its series. The open-world, figure it out from Legend of Zelda. The RPG, combat, and difficulty of Adventure of Link. The weapon swapping and somewhat decentralized questing and thrill of filling in your map of Wind Waker. The way it

I find myself drawn a lot more to YA comics and graphic novels, I think. There's less pretense, usually more focus on an entertaining story and characters, and a lot of times more room for the art to breath and inhabit the page. Not to discount adult graphic novels and comics, but I feel like a lot of adult comics try

Why do I never see Hope Larson on these kinds of lists? She's been killing it recently, with A Wrinkle in Time, Compass South, Goldie Vance, etc.

What the fuck just happened. I was literally JUST here and the comments section wasn't a total mess. This is the worst.

One of my favorite parts of this game is that it really, truly lets you play in any way you want. After we each had played 7-8 hours, my buddy asked me where I was and what I had done. I described in detail the current quest I was on, which seemed very integral to me. And after I finished, he kinda blinked at me with

I COMPLETELY agree with your last statement, and it's a big reason why I'm enjoying this game when I didn't really enjoy other open world games like Elder Scrolls or Assassin's Creed or Fallout 3+: the things I'm doing are all really fun! Fighting is fun, taking pictures is fun, parasailing is fun, riding horses is

But it all really culminated in this amazing comment of yours! I feel TRULY blessed that we got to read it!

No, but they have an interest in APPEARING to care about racial and gender equity!

In so far as they have terrible writers under contract, yes!

Yeah, that seals it for me, Lonergan's an asshole who obviously doesn't care about woman. I'll refrain seeing any of his movies.
