Right, and like the critic said, and like many people who use religion as an excuse for hate, she's picking and choosing. Suicide is a sin (I know little about the Catholic Church but since they seem to think you can atone and change from the sin of being gay, I would assume suicide is a worse sin… though it's

Oh Wes. Such good casting—he even looks like a Wes, all weaselly (actually the way he smirks reminds me of James Spader in Pretty in Pink, of all things). Yeah there seems absolutely no nuance to his character (and, in regards to his character anyway, why should there be—he seems pretty much just to be there to show

Right, which honestly I think is pretty realistic. Like I said, especially in these he said/(s)he said cases, there really is no real way of knowing I don't think (which isn't to say by any means that I think the accuser is responsible, or that these cases aren't worth pursuing).

I think it's a relatively realistic example of the way that parents' genuinely thinking they are giving good advice and teaching their kids important messages don't always realize just exactly how the kids will read those messages—especially when combined with the messages they get from friends, pop culture, etc… I

Sheesh, well then, Anne should be doing her detective work on similar cases and call up Veronica Mars to settle all of this!

I was attacked once, yeah, but admittedly it was in a pretty different setting. All fair points. I didn't say this in my message very well but I guess I wish it had been filmed from a different angle just because seeing the people and the building did give me that immediate thought even though I know in the moment

I just thought that meant he didn't want to say the words yet. But you're right it could go either way. I guess the rational side of me wonders if he would start a new relationship with a guy then so soon after all this—but of course people aren't rational.

Oh yeah, I didn't mean to imply that there was any doubt about that (and Taylor's bruised/cut face in the preview seems to confirm that).

TO be fair Peter's relationship towards Eric was all about idolization and hero worship. He had this image of Eric, that Eric perpetuated (constantly "banging" girls, etc) and now on some level, even if he can't articulate it, he may think their entire relationship was a lie. It's not that surprising to me.

The guy Taylor is "seeing" is called Luke—it came up on his friend request.

Right—his wife/girlfriend clearly is a close friend of Anne's but not a relation.

Right—that's my issue. I thought this episode had a lot of great things, but as a whole it wasn't as strong as past ones. But last week got a B-!

Oh, he obviously involved in some way. I just don't think it had anything sexually (assault or otherwise) to do with Taylor.

I agree. I also think it would stink of a variety of cliches that hopefully this show won't touch (ie I've read people say Kevin is sexually frustrated so of course he'd take advantage of the situation—which isn't really how most rapes work).

Yeah. And really, especially at that age, relationships like that can move *really* fast. (and to Luke it probably DOES seem like Taylor's taking a long time to get past it…)

I'm not sure I'd say the coach is *amoral* (that's a strong term)—he just is completely ill equipped to deal with this.

I dunno—the whole "the whole team raped him" thing seems kinda (this sounds horrible to say) cliche. I think they were complicit in a different way.

Yeah, I should have more faith for this show, but I had the same worry both times about child abuse storylines. The show has enough on its plate anyway—and I assume the writers are sensitive enough to know that it could be damaging at this point to conflate child sexual abuse=gay (well actually I guess they showed as

Actually hasn't it been shown that he is a pretty good player? (I know there was that scene with Kevin helping him out, but I gathered it was because he hadn't been a good team player or something—isn't he on a BB scholarship?)

I think that would be too extreme for this show even, I hope.
