I'm an optician with lab experience so I'll never be out of a job (I know of 4 different offices that would hire me on the spot if I quit my current job) but when I first moved to this area I started working for an office that was corrupt. The interview went just like most other interviews, the boss was a little

If the school makes you purchase the iPad, would you really trust your 7 year old girl taking it to and from school every day?

I just hope they have a killer program for using the books on a computer. If these books are huge (2 gig) and I need to reference something from a previous course then I don't want to be required to reload the book on my iPad. I would much rather open it up on a desktop/laptop and check it out there. Especially if

Parents will probably have to purchase the iPad AND the textbooks, as opposed to the schools dishing out the $$ for them. Much more expensive for families and much less expensive for school districts. I can see this being a big social problem for lower income families living in school boundaries where most kids come

So I shouldn't name my prosthetic eye business "iCantSee"??

I have the older version of the Logitech dock, same size and sounds very similar... Love the thing to death and I've been rolling around with it for over 5 years. Battery still holds a very decent charge too.

trying to wait till they can load Win8 on it... don't know if I'll last that long

I hate Amazon with a passion. The only time I'll use it is when I already know the exact item I'm looking for, I'll buy it, then get the f* off the site. The site is a heap of suggested item vomit you just can't get away from. I don't care about attachments to products I don't have and I don't want to buy different

I'm at work today, goofing off on my home computer using logmein... does that mean I'm avoiding work by working at home remotely from work?

Cost effectiveness works when there's actually funds for the expensive card up front. I built mine with a single 5770 initially and spent my extra allowance on getting an SSD, gamed great, then later when more funds were available I got to add a second. Having a wife to report to does change the pricing scheme a bit.

He's the death by spaghettification guy, I love that man!

I just hope I'll be able to opt out of showing up in other peoples feed. If I comment on a friends photo of her at the beach I don't want it showing up in my mother-inlaws feed that "oopsmyeye commented on Jane Doe's photo"

I was able to get the whole LOTR trilogy for under $11. I don't know how I've lived this long without it.

The first suggestion I'd have is to go back to the doc that wrote the prescription and let them know you're getting headaches from the glasses. They'll check the Rx again against what it should be and if everything is coming out the right way then they'll start tweaking the Rx to something that is going to work

Tip: having an eye exam then having an experienced optician make glasses with the CORRECT prescription is key to getting glasses that are comfortable to look through. Even if it's an extremely minimal prescription, it helps.

Measuring eyes to get the "right distance" isn't new at all, it's one of the most important factors in making glasses. For somebody with a fairly low prescription of -2.75 the optical center of the lens must be +or- 2.5mm from the center of their pupils (1.25 mm each side) otherwise there will be induced prism and

There are different tolerance standards for different powers of lenses, chances are pretty high that your lenses aren't the actual prescription your doctor wrote for you, or that there's aberration in the lens that shouldn't be there. Especially if you have induced prism in your lenses, it's very important to get

The camera is attached to the guys helmet.

Longboarding is actually getting a lot of attention lately. Redbull is starting to pick up some events and there's getting to be some nice companies making very prime products for the sport.

Now playing

I think you're thinking of ABEC 11, they're a company that makes longboarding wheels. The biggest problem with bad bearings is heat buildup... then melting the wheels around it. Doesn't happen often because people that do that kind of longboarding also are geared up with quality wheels that have good cores inside
