DS9 had more successful comedy episodes than any other series, especially if you exclude Ferengi episodes. Our Man Bashir, Little Green Men, Trials and Tribble-ations, and Take Me Out to the Holosuite are all solid episodes with comedic A-plots.

Well, I think there’s a commitment to get the visuals of the show, especially the costumes, to feel right in a way that the dialogue, characters, and situations don’t. And I agree with you - I love the dialogue, the characters, and the situations, even if they don’t feel the slightest bit authentic.

One thing that bugged me was that IIRC, “nerd” was not at all a common insult until the ‘70s when it was popularized by The Fonz.

I think the ridiculous timeline for Wolf’s culinary development is the joke - kind of like the “Day in Town” sequence in Wet Hot American Summer.

The fact that the shows’ regular title cards have been replaced with “Crisis on Earth-X” should be a clue that these episodes are really just using the timeslots of these shows. They should be considered a separate miniseries.

The worst part about “Dragon” is it probably means we’re never going to get Richard.
