    Or…. no.

The kid they got to replace Jesse Eisenberg on Zombieland is insufferably smug

Alpha House also wasn't as funny.  With the notable exception of that cold open cameo, which was fantastic.

@avclub-2462a76f718c97cfa773e42865b6ae51:disqus Oh dear lord, seriously?  You're more of a crybaby than Samwell Tarly.

    We are Devo?

This is the first time in history that anyone anywhere has called the Hold Steady metal

Westeros is predominantly the Middle Ages, not magic fantasy-time land.  GRRM has way too huge stones to let his characters always solve their problems with magickal solutions

It's not comfort food music, but it does have its place.  It's also pretty easy to cut out the worst tracks in terms of difficulty: trim Oryx, Old Dreams, Crake and Fracking Fluid and you should be in good business.

I could see it causing a stroke or two

This might be my favorite thread in any AV Club music article ever

A pity that there's no version that excises the album's most worthless song, "Fracking Fluid Injection".

So I was thinking about why there were all the infinite jest references in this episode (not just the law firm, but also Fackelmann Memorial Hospital) - and then realized it's because of Gately's painkiller addiction.  It's almost like a very subtle apology for treating a serious subject very lightly.

He looks like a wannabe David Byrne.

Ah crap.  I'm a 1L, I'm too young to think about joblessness!

Shakespeare once wrote plays, so nobody else should write plays.

The AV Club: lawyers and lawyers to-be?

The "outsider art" grant gives you enough money to buy magic markers and stolen prescription medication

Ha - it's about as purposeful and worthwhile as him marrying the grocery checkout clerk he had around three lines of dialogue with. "He conned me too."   Ooh, I care so much about you as a character.

I like most of this list with the glaring exception of Matchstick Men, which was a huge pile of tics and "gotcha" twists with no purpose or actual content.

Well yeah, but as a whole that album is dominated by its title track - if there's a list of best songs over 10 minutes, that song is near the top.
