I wish this had sparked more discussion; Kincaid is amazing.

Oho!  "Didn't SOUND black!"  I love it.  Thanks.

My brain gave out for a moment there and by "Dominic West," I thought you meant "Dominic Cooper," so I thought you were giving a pretty crap apology.

Did people assume she was black?  I'd love a link to that comment thread.

I feel like it should be easier to make a lewd joke using our two names and others' horror, but I'll be damned if it's coming to me.

That would be terrible.  You'd go thinking it'd be all celebrity commenters like Scrawler and Craig J. Clark, full of witty repartee, but all of us lurkers would show up, too, and I don't know if it'd be as much fun to have us staring at you, expecting constant entertainment.

Did this article dis Bill Condon or Adam Sandler?  Is it a generally agreed upon thing that Condon is bad?  I liked "Gods & Monsters," and "Kinsey" and "Dreamgirls" were fine.

I thought it was a weirdly obsolescent pop-culture reference for Parker and Stone to include in their film, so this makes as much sense to me as anything.

This is terrible, but I've never understood Brian Boitano's place in the zeitgeist (maybe because I'm too young?), so I never quite got that part of the "South Park" movie.  Was he famously arrogant?  I've always wanted to ask someone — cure me of my cultural-reference ignorance.

In that both are unreasonably terrible and that "Idiocracy" in particular is obscenely racist and classist?

Except for capitalizing your articles and prepositions, you win.

You are legitimately sexy to me right now.

Oh, god, the tragedy of non-Frank-Herbert "Dune."  I actually got kind of a kick out of the "Houses of Dune" or whatever trilogy they started with — it was entertaining crap — but then…wow.

Seth MacFarlane

i and 1, wouldn't that be "fuckers-up"?

I guess I'm going to be the only one to be sad that "Beasts of the Southern Wild" got no love.  I know it's absolutely not the HFPA's cup of tea (no famous people to invite), but after being disqualified for SAG recognition, I'd vaguely hoped the Golden Globes might've rebooted its Oscar (nomination) chances.
