The game engine never changed, its been CryEngine since the start, they have upgraded the engine version as new versions were published by Crytek, but that is nowhere near the same as changing the engine, since almost all the assets can carry over.

SC is much more stable now anyway so you can give it run.

So why don’t you play star citizen now? it’s much more stable and they just added tutorial missions in their lastest update.
