So amazing!
In what universe?!
ArsTechnica has been doing a series on very-high-end equipment for sims such as Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous. Including a set of $500, hand-crafted, custom-ordered, super-sturdy and super-sensitive pedals.
descent WAS first person...
They've already gone over ALL of that. The game sacrifices *some* realities for cinematic and entertainment value. In reality, the future is likely going to be filled with militaristic drones who fire rounds/lasers/missiles/whatever from thousands of miles away and does all the targeting automatically. The game is…
This is the game I'm most hyped about. All my hope for gaming lies within.
No pressure, guys. :D
Just following the development has been such a thrill by itself. I feel as though I've gotten to know the PEOPLE applying their skills to create this potential masterpiece. I've also learnt so much about almost every aspect…
If you follow the development at all, it has been discussed over and over. There are many things that they have tried, things they have implemented, that simply were not fun. Mostly it's visual/audio aids for the player. Lets be honest, in the future you wouldn't even need pilots, let alone "dogfighting" combat.
God forbid you start typing thinking you're pulled up the chat window. You'll wind up spacing cargo, nuking an asteroid station, self-destructing and sending a naked selfie to your mom in the span of 20 seconds.
Dayum. That looks awesome.
Dude is doing pretty good with the fact that he's in a Aurora, the one ship a lot of people over at Star Citizens forums are saying it's a sucky, useless ship. Again it's not the ship it's the pilot that will make or break ship for combat.
I'd like to see a GIS-type map of a modern airial photo but labelled (sorta like Googles), in the background, and then with a translucent overlay of that old map, to see how things have changed.
god damn i hope so. Ground Zeros was awesome. if 5 lives up to the promise of ground zeros, i could totally live with it being the last metal gear game.
Phantom Pain is clearly an anti-drug PSA. I mean, look at what that shit does to Big Boss!
As someone that works in the field. ANY change requires end-to-end retesting and recertification. In other words a new module means retesting EVERYTHING on the aircraft. That takes forever. Just a few years ago a minor software upgrade to a well developed weapon system caused a glitch where it could turn around and…
This isn't that big of a deal. An F-22 carries 480 rounds and fires at over 6,000 rounds per min. That's 4.8 seconds of trigger time. They need to get rid of guns on fighters altogether already. The only aircraft that need guns are gunships (your AC-130s) and the F-35B which needs a lot more ammo.
Also, this isn't…
Did I really read 180 rounds?
I hope every one of those people find their future self-driving cars always take them to the wrong side of the building.
