“Clam slam” is now the name of my imaginary riot grrl band.

I’m a fan of Autism Speaks, but that’s probably because they seem to be trying to establish a voice for the severely disabled autistic children like my own. The people who don’t like Autism Speaks tend to be associated with higher functioning autism. There really needs to be some way to distinguish those who are on

They played the “romance” perfectly. Rick and Elsa were over when they met again in Casablanca. All they had was a memory of the time when the people that they were could get together.

I’ve always loved this movie, partly for the reasons discussed in this interview. I remember watching this movie as a child with my mother — herself a German-Jewish refugee from Berlin who left on the Kindertransport at 15 — and seeing the tears in her eyes as she, too, sang along to the Marseillaise, and as she told

This kind of thing is very soothing to me. Not the Queen’s passing, but knowing that there is a plan, that every detail has been thought out, and everyone is aware of their role. It feels very dignified and, well, how things should be done.

Watch Charles surprise everyone by taking the regnal name “Francis.”

Great book. one of my favorites from 2016.

OH MY GOD! I’m reading Lovecraft Country right now, and it’s INCREDIBLE. I might actually reach out to my father to recommend it to him.

It’s really exciting that the conversation about race is continuing in pop culture.

You’re right. She should have been awarded a posthumous Oscar for her astronomical talent for using the family name to score a couple bit parts.

When I saw the trailer I thought it looked good and creepy. Reminded me of Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff. When I saw it was directed by Jordan Peele I got really excited. Loved Key and Peele. It is really exciting that his talents lie in multiple areas and he is breaking into the directing world.

Brave Sir Rubio ran away.
(“No!”)
Bravely ran away away.
(“I didn’t!”)
When danger reared it’s ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
(“I never!”)
Yes, brave Sir Rubio turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
(“You’re lying!”)
Swiftly taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the brave,

“Sometimes I try to do things, and it just doesn’t work out the way I want it to. I get real frustrated, and I try hard to do it, and I take my time, and it doesn’t work out the way I want it to. It’s like, I concentrate real hard, and it doesn’t work out. Everything I do and everything I try never turns out. . . .”

Funny thing...my family (who are all born again Christians) have the tact NEVER to say this to me. “Corgis, aren’t you glad you’re here with us and not dead in a dumpster?”
