Even though I have access to other places, my parents’ house wins every time. Whether it’s for the garage with a wood burning stove so you can work in shorts in the dead of winter, or the ability to have home cooked food when you’re ready for a break, there’s always benefits to heading back to mom and dad’s. Just one

I haven’t seen it in writing. Didn’t really care to see it in writing. As long as that repair bill was $0 (which it was), I didn’t care what the warranty said. And seeing as it was a 3 owner car that was privately purchased, I doubt it was a courtesy head gasket job.

I think it’s a function of the value of the car and your emotional attachment. For instance, my car, a beat up 2002 Impreza, I would pay for tires and fluids. That’s about it. Maybe some emissions related crap around the time it has to be inspected. However, if I ever get the chance and the money to import a Delta

Just a heads up, on most of those cars, Subaru has acknowledged the problem, and has extended the warranty of the headgaskets to 100,000mi. One of them on my wagon was replaced at 98k. The other one I did, with little experience, my friend’s engine crane and stand, and a guide on NASIOC in a weekend.

I have seen that guy fly in person. He, and many others are very, very skilled. Those little quadcopters are easily capable of 60mph. It isn’t too much effort to build one that can reach 80, though that’s a bit extreme for most people.

This is why flying FPV (first person video) quadcopters is so awesome. I fly at the local park a lot. People have come up to me concerned about their privacy. After letting them see the video goggles and flying while they watch, every single one of those people go from “you spying on my bae with that?” to “holy shit!

I wonder why nobody ever uses square cash. It’s the only service I know of that doesn’t have an intermediate account to hold your received funds, like paypal, venmo, and google wallet does. Money I get from square cash goes directly into my bank account, ready for me to spend almost immediately

Just use a blue sharpie, or any other color that isn’t black, and mark the end of the zip tie(assuming it’s a white zip tie). chances are, if the zip tie is replaced, whoever is replacing it won’t bother to mark it with the same color marker.

Why is it that people who publish their videos to youtube set their videos to private, or delete them, once they are posted about in a news article?

A 12” screen with a 1024 x 768 resolution? What is this, 2004?

I thought that was your hummer I could see from my classroom window across the street, this video confirms it!

hmm... $5,000 fine... the bridge I cross 5 days a week costs $5 one way. I’d have to average at least 3 years 9 months between getting caught for this to work out. I wonder how long he was able to pull that off for

A hacker would. This thing has some really beefy specs. Basically guaranteed to be one of, if not the best home router once a build of DD-WRT comes out for it

I can attest to that. If there’s 1 thing those enterprise cisco devices are designed for, it’s uptime. Plus, their lightweight APs plus a tiny controller means that I can have seamless coverage in my 4 story townhome, whereas the terrible Comcast router could barely manage penetrating to the 2nd floor.

As a Philadelphia resident, this makes sense. Some of my transit rides smell like what I believe to be 400 year old pineapples.

The thing also has a 1.4GHz dual core processor, 4GB of flash memory and 1GB of RAM.
Compare that to a the Linksys EA6900, another high end router, which has only a dual core 800Mhz CPU, 128MB of flash memory and 256MB of RAM. This thing is going to be a hacker’s dream router

Mileage means nothing. It’s all about the maintenance and “luck of the draw.” Anything that isn’t new is a gamble. I like my gambles. And I can increase the odds by researching the used car and checking how well it’s been maintained. Case in point, my fiancee isn’t the gambling type. She NEEDS a car to work 100% of

I’m happy I don’t have AT&T with the free wifi thing. One of the terrible downsides to this is that the AT&T network name is usually permanently stored in your phone. So if someone wanted to, they could go to any busy place, set up their own network named like the AT&T wifi, and everybody’s phones will automatically

My Subaru has been losing oil. Every 3000 miles I put 4.2 quarts in, and I’ve been taking out only a quart. If I hit about 3100 miles I get an oil light every time I brake. 2002 N/A Subaru Impreza Wagon

We got a wood burning stove off of craigslist for really cheap, one of the buck stoves with the built in circulation fans. We just ran the chimney pipe up and out through the garage and the attic, and we have a fully heated garage. Even better, we got a bunch of the 2ft carpet tiles that are usually glued down in
