Uh, these are universally really weak in terms of scare factor. Not sure if there’s something I’m missing here?

It’d be nice if they do, but I couldn’t care less about non-Diablo fans here. It’s always nice to have a game that can appeal to traditional fans of a series and bring in new people but I’ll always take the former over the latter as a usual member of the former. I think that as more time passes, the odds of seeing a

Cool prediction, we’ll see if it comes true.

Could not care less.

I get that, and I mostly agree, but 99% of the experience ends up being the endgame anyway. For the expansion, the story did set up another game and I can’t complain about that.

Your last paragraph sums up exactly where I’m coming from. I think Blizzard learned some valuable lessons from D3's launch and how specific major changes brought in an overwhelmingly positive community reactions.

I feel the same way. It’s a game that I can always go back to when a new season starts, or when I get that itch, and hop right into and enjoy. Even after having played it since launch, there are sets I haven’t tried and new buffs that make old class sets feel like new.

It doesn’t really have to be all that different, Diablo 3 shifting towards being more Diablo 2-ish was a big part of what saved it. It’s a difficult line to walk but so long as Diablo 4 has new classes, new gear sets, and ideally new locations to go with updated graphics, I’ll be perfectly happy. I liked D3 (moreso

Really hoping Diablo 4 is good. I liked Diablo 3 from launch, and although they made it significantly better over time, I’d really prefer a smoother start this time around. Diablo 3 was, to me, really good and a big time sink, but it never hit that great level that D2 or D1 did.

It has a lot less to do with the streamer and more with the creepy, fanboy-ish tone of the piece. Just very uncomfortable to read

Might just be me, this type of thing feels uncomfortable to even read about. I don’t know if it’s the story or the way that it’s written but it’s enough to almost elicit a physical reaction of discomfort.

I enjoy loot boxes when they’re tied solely to cosmetics and/or can be acquired without spending money. I also don’t see a problem (in that loot box content context) with allowing people to spend money on loot boxes if they so choose, it’s their (probably poor) decision to make.

Not a big deal, it’ll work out to be the same game with different player models that you can opt not to use if you don’t like them. Definitely not something worth getting upset about.

It’s not perfect but I’ve never had any issues in getting the skins I’ve wanted in Overwatch through event grinding/saving currency (big shout-out to OWL viewer rewards, more recently), and I say that as someone who’s played since launch to the tune of a mere ~250 levels.

I don’t see an issue if the rewards are purely cosmetic, especially if it’s something like what Overwatch does where cosmetics are not tradeable between players.

Twitch still doesn’t have racist emotes.

I like loot boxes when they’re focused on skins. Free cosmetics aren’t a bad thing for those of us who spend nothing, and people who do choose to spend their money are making the decision to do so for something that won’t give them an in-game advantage.

Totally agree. If I had never played Mass Effect (and the first two were still on Steam) and purchased the first two on Steam assuming that the third would be there too, being made aware of the sequel only working through Origin would have given me serious pause.

I’m sorry that your experience is so limited.
