Because they WANT to? Nope. What they WANT is better tips. And they have a savvy understanding of the market so short skirts, etc. (where the uniform code is slack anyway).

Could not agree more. I was born in Europe but naturalized at 10 in the U.S. - the revelation of being an immigrant brings no stigma besides: oh, a semi-exotic white person. I think it might be worse for my parents because they have fairly noticeable accents. Still, you don't get much preaching about more Europeans…
