I’ve got $5 that says FCA is going to end up owning Audi by this time next year.
Interesting. Just a dog you say?
I always have that issue with the Toyota and Lexus appliance cars, sit in the passing lane running speed limit at best, get on a 2 lane black top on a nice, sunny day and drive 10 below the limit, it’s aggrevating! Funny thing though, Prius owners must drive their cars at the most efficent speeds for them, I know…
The suburbs are terrible about this. I frequently run into people driving at school-zone rates when school-zone time is up! Speed limit is 35, 25 isn’t acceptable.
God I wish cops would pull people over for this more often. I get stuck behind some Toyota/Lexus doing this exact thing almost every day.
Going 24 in a 35 isn’t a good reason?
Going 24 in a 35. Fuck that must be irritating.
Why would you want to drive a base model fullsize when you could have a well optioned midsize - especially if you don’t need the extra size.
A similarly equipped ecodiesel is over $5k more. I also wouldn’t call it better. The Colorado is only down 300 lbs in towing and has 400 lbs more payload. If you get the highest trim ecodiesel 4wd it only has 1000 lbs payload - on par with many sedans. The Ram is really only useful if you need more space.
They won’t sell many of these brand new, so the used market is already going to be constrained. And diesel trucks already hold their value much more, relative to their gas counterparts.
Mid-size trucks aren’t supposed to be cheaper, they are supposed to be smaller. Not everybody wants to drive around in an 18’ land yacht.
These things will still be $29,000 used in 10 years.
As a fairly recent purchaser of the gas version, I would definitely recommend the truck to one looking for a mid-sizer. If only I could have waited juuuuust a bit longer....
If they made an SUV on this platform, with this drivetrain (or a manual) I would absolutely buy it...
I don’t agree that everyone who wants a smallish GM truck should get the diesel just because it gets great gas mileage for a truck. Some people may not be able to afford the additional purchase cost, they may be afraid of the additional complexity, especially of high costs of replacing a clogged or failed diesel…
EPA has finished the more stringent checks of these trucks and has issued the certificate of compliance.
This would make a great adventure truck, with the range and the power to really take you places. You would need to fix a few things but otherwise its got all the right ingredients.
My commute is only 7 miles, so I’d be seriously damaging the engine with a diesel.
One of these will be my next truck. In a year or two.
