I’ll bet way more than $75 Mil. The Government, EPA and especially CARB must be super pissed over this software deception. One thing if this is a component failure, whole different ball game here.
Really interesting story. They are in deep shit and will pay dearly. Can’t believe they would design a system to try to cheat on emissions. VW struggling in the U.S. already; get ready for a huge fine. Good luck trying to get those cars back to the dealer.
No, the key moved to the accesory position, while moving, you can steer and brake with greater effort.
They realize most auto companies have had safety recalls. Car are very complex these days.
Along with Toyota, Honda, Jeep, Ford, BMW, Nissan, Accura,Chrysler,Mercedes,Dodge, Infinity,Mazda, Mitsubishi,Saab? All have had safety recalls, biggest was with Japanese airbag supplier Takata.
They should be able to move forward now. GM has been generous in settling with people who had a valid claim. Sadly some of these folks died because they were not wearing a seat belt or were drunk. Teach your love ones to control a vehicle that has lost power. Takes more effort to steer and brake, but should not result…
Both Mustang and Camaro are good looking cars. Chevy just upped the performance. Competition is a great thing. It will be hard for the Mustang to dump weight. Their move will likely be to goose the boost on the 4cyl. Problem is a 2.3 litres is too big for a 4cyl. so it won’t be smooth and refined.
Awesome performance bargain and refinement. Gonna give the 4 series BMW some competition along with Asian strivers. I’d love to own one, and look forward to something good in the rental fleet.
Never. If they ever made this, time to close up shop!
Not a good thing, thankfully no “spindle grill”.
He won’t be buying a new one, probably ever. With new “edgy” styling and awful “spindle grill” the existing Lexus customer will be puking all the way out to the parking lot. From the looks of the comments, the Millennials aren’t too keen on the new styling direction either.
Lexus/Toyota styling used to be conservative like their customers. Now that their customer base is dying, they are trying to appeal to a younger customer.
This looks fresh, not stupid like the new Lexi crossovers. Better car for all the real estate ladies driving Lexi because Consumer reports told them to.
Because there are so much better options in the market. Toyota quality not what it used to be. Frame rust in 2016 is a joke. How many other suppliers to this truck Fucked up?
What other suppliers down in Mexico fucked up?
Unless your frame rusted like most of them did. Then they break in half.
Well maybe you decide to tow something downhill, and someone stops ahead of you. Might be good .
I guess not.
We have those. 4cyl is still the same wheezy unit from 20 yrs ago, except with worse mileage.
