So That Happened

It’s beyond laughable for him to say that any network would dump a show for philosophical reasons if it was making them big money. Every single network is part of some massive, multinational communications conglomerate that represents the pinnacle of no-fucks-given capitalism. They wouldn’t care what came out of Tim

You just made my day.

It seems like giving them somewhere to go might be a good thing then. Appreciate it takes a long time to build a party, but is there any hope for the GOP? I don’t think so.

As a Republican, she should know all too well both the ability and the willingness of her party to screw over anyone any time they see fit. Especially if it means extra profit for a few already inconceivably wealthy white men.

The moment a teen puts something down, it ceases to exist in their universe in any corporeal way. Especially cups. And bowls. And food wrappers. And headphones. And clothing.

Oh, George, I miss you so. You will never not be on my playlist (Freedom90, every day!).

My love for this show is only surpassed by that for the Great British Bake Off. People doing their utmost in positive competition! I love it. And bravo to you for even trying a bit of it, because it’s insane. I hope you keep going.

Same! The Favorite Tee was, in fact, a favorite because it used to be fairly solidly built of decent fabric and came in basic colors. But two or three years ago they stopped carrying them and switched over to some total garbage fabric that’s cut and sewed so poorly they barely survived being taken out of the package.

I feel that many people could be good parents in a household with chefs, nannies and personal assistants at their beck and call 24/7.

I have a podcast that my husband occasionally listens to on a speaker instead of headphones. Whenever I catch my voice, my spine curls. Eeeeesh.

No, your wording was fine, I understood what you meant. :D It just seems like there should be a way to record whether a book has been purchased and removed from inventory simply to go to another retail outlet. Or to show that an order was placed but hasn’t been paid for or picked up, ergo not yet an official sale.

That’s crazy! Just moving a book is an order? No wonder so much garbage ends up on those lists.

I was also surprised by just how small the list-qualifying number was. It makes me wonder how many other times this has been done by smarter, more subtle people who didn’t get caught.

All of the Hubbard’s books were pushed onto the charts and kept there this way by CoS. It’s also common practice for political and religious books, especially in conservative circles. It seems like NYT has a bit of a filter for it, but not much (an asterisk?). Why doesn’t it just disqualify the book outright?

Did they actually have to pay for those bulk orders? From what I gathered, they ordered big quantities that couldn’t possibly be fulfilled because the book hadn’t been printed in any quantity. The NYT recorded the orders as “sales,” but was money ever exchanged? It seemed like a great way to push your book onto the

My sisters and I all slept on the pullout couch in the living room so we could wake up and watch while not having to get out of bed. Good times!

That looks delicious!

Seeing those figures is pretty amazing. We’ve been following the news for our Gin & Cake podcast, and when we recorded our most recent episode, were SUPER down on what we were hearing about the show. But a slew of reviews came out last week, including ones from people who would have been happy to bash it, and they

Wow, those are lovely! Are you serving them (or another batch of them) at your wedding? They seem perfectly appropriate.
