I don’t fully agree. I was given a copy of Horizon: zero dawn after i gleefully put 200h in BotW and enjoyed it tremendously. To my own surprise, after 50 hours of gameplay in Horizon, I felt like BotW getting all the attention that year was unfair. For context: i’m a die-hard fan of Zelda, I played almost all of them

I guess we’re all at fault for never spending the necessary time to say something positive when we enjoy something. I like reading your race-centric pieces. They always catch my eye and even if the game is not my cup of tea, I want to read the piece to have your specific insights. As everywhere else, queer/black

eh, who knows, let’s cross fingers something goes wrong and he ends up hitting himself with a ball. I mean, the former dumdumb almost got killed by a pretzel.

Oh the appeal of money.

can you update in a week or two, once the microtransactions kick in (or not) please?

What you describe (unsufferable main protagonist who talks WAY too much and bores you to death in a game that doesn't succeeds in waking you up) is exactly what I felt when I played (and dropped) Night in the woods. WOuld you compare them?

It might just be me, but damn, this title was promising me a far more scathing review than what I read, I almost skipped it thinking “oh well,, another developper that destroyed an entire franchise with an half-finished games that everybody is going to hate on for 2 months”

my first reaction seeing the video was “thank god, I refused to place a preorder when I had the opportunity to do so”. Buying the mini-SNES was probably the best way to understand these remake are really, really not worth it, unless you’re beyond obsessed with gadgets, collectibles, or retro-gaming. They always place

Well that’s clever, look at them trying to bring people to their original concept so they’re not completely playerless when the battle royale craze is over.

I experience that VERY often as I usually buy games, download them, open them just to know what they look like, play a few min/hours, and get back to my currently-played big game. I still have to get back to god of war for instance, and I’ve played it already up to the first big fight.

And just like you guys, I

I beat you all. 12 times in 7 years. Including moving twice changing countries. Then an easier 4 times in 7 years (changing countries twice) - it helped me keeping as little as needed.

Amazing review! But is it really a review if there is no 45-min video describing the most crippling fears of Tim Rogers, his Donkey Kong tee shirt that he got at 15 when he preorderd and this anecdote about Japan circa 2010?

so.... there is really no way to play alone?  I don’t do MMOs  :’(

I’m surrpised to read all this. Every time I’ve seen the “did you just assume their gender” line used, it was indeed to mock people, but never (really, never) TQ people. It’s always used to mock social media warriors who jump at anybody’s throat because they’re constantly in a woke race/contest (see: Tracey Ullman for

waw, they REALLY trying hard to impose on us the idea that the future is only in upgrades and not home console generations.

“actually, we need Fire Emblem Awakening’s Chrom. (We don’t need Chrom.)“.

jeez, it got a little repetitive and lengthy at some points but congrats on the reporting. To summarize, the founders are ass wipes who can only hire clones of themselves, hiding behing the fact their hiring policy favors gamers (in the worst possible definition of the word: toxic males whose gaming habits can be

I used to mourn the disappearance of a clear value-estimation system in your reviews, but I now see why it doesn’t necessarily make sense. As a new player, my first metroidvania was headlander, 2 years ago. I must have played only a few other ones since then (Metroid SNES and 3DS), so this review, even though it’s

I also see a lot of reactions (here, gameranx, social media) about this idea, namely, that not everybody has access to a powerful enough connection IN AMERICA. Entire swatches of territory are still very backwards when it comes to quality. That’s not to mention people who currently only have cheaper, less performant

The only platform holder that has said pretty much nothing about streaming is Nintendo: not exactly an entity known for its quick embrace of new technologies.”

eeeeeerrrrrrrhmmm... home game system? joystick on controlers? Motion controls? Second Screen? 3D screen? I mean, sure, they never embraced POWER these last
