What bothers me is that as a country we won’t legalise euthanasia to allow him a peaceful death, but we’ll withdraw life support so he basically suffocates to death in front of his parents.

Unfortunately these comments from the parents make me think a civil lawsuit against the hospital is on it’s way, given what they have said about it being “too late”. It was always too late, but now a world renowned children’s hospital will be left paying off huge legal bills because of this selfishness.
Its getting more popular to do these in London, but they really do suck - and not just because of the rain! Somerset House is popular, but we’re not allowed to bring anything but cushions to sit on (or cold concrete), so you usually have some wanker kneeing you in the back. It also takes up to an hour to queue because…
Plus it’s not just the brides spending that money - my dress was over the $1,000 but it was a gift from my parents, who wanted to contribute something for the day without just writing a cheque. I’d have been mortified if this had happened, as they saved for a long time to purchase that dress for me.
This deserves way more stars! :-D
Agreed! Sending a gift back is petty and lacking in grace and class, even if you’re indulging in a petty immature ‘feud’
Just a week??? Is this normal in the US??
I loved the live action movie! I found the scenes with Mr Gruber’s trainset and the caribbean-style musicians particularly poignant, given our horrible treatment of foreigners and refugees lately. Post-war we were broke and yet still found room for them, whereas now when we’re a rich country with enough to go…
If you want a good indication (although not foolproof) of if the makeup contains less nasties, check if it’s sold by European outlets to EU customers. From what I can recall, the EU has banned over 1,000 more substances than the US from personal care products due to tighter regulation.
Maybe before they put themselves into semi-retirement at 35 & have a high 6-figures clothes budget... she ain’t no high street fashion queen now. Their staff is getting bigger, they’ve spent a fortune on their Norfolk home and then pretty much immediately moved back to London, all while asserting their family life…
Someone call Alanis Morrisette - this is real irony!
They’re in a military parade though and there would have been severe consequences for them stopping to help - as someone mentioned above, it happens every year we get a hot spell for the ceremony and there are medics there to help.
That’s Beatrice, the other is Eugenie - I feel quite sorry for the blood princesses being shoved to the back, in favour of waity Katie and the brood!
Agree re Topshop - the quality is just so poor now, and it costs a fortune. When I was a teen in the 90s I could buy a decent Topshop dress and bag from saving up pocket money and they would last for ages - now I struggle to afford them from my grown-ass wages and they fall apart. That’s if I can even find one in a…
Another vote for Clarks here - bought some incredibly comfy sandals (the kind with ankle straps and horizontal toe strap) and they were awesome tramping around Roman sites in Greece. This was last year but they tend to do the same style every summer - similar to these:
I disagree - there is a strong current of anti-abortion sentiment in the Tory old-guard. There’s a very right-wing, anti-LGBT, racist, eurosceptic cohort who will be returning from UKIP now they’ve imploded, including possible donors with those beliefs trying to gain influence with the Tories again. I don’t think it…
As I understand it, the difficulty lies in both cost (charities have been set up to bring women over to Liverpool for abortions), but also travelling after a serious medical procedure, the women often can’t bring family or friends to support them. Partners can be at home looking after their other children and due to…
Yeah, just another pointless endeavour we make the Queen sit through instead of letting her retire in peace. She’s not actually allowed to say no - but realistically it may well be her last election on the throne :-( so it would be great if she said “Fuck it”, turned them down and made them do it all over again...…
Oh and physical appearance - most UK towns on a Saturday are still full of people in tracksuits with bad teeth, nothing unusual there :-D
I’m not sure what you mean here - Jimmy Seville was seen in his active period as the ultimate family entertainer. His shows such as top of the pops and Jim’ll Fix It were primetime family viewing, and he did countless charity events for children’s hospitals. I see several similarities in how much trust was placed in…
