You’re 100% correct. What I was posting was primarily with respect to in-cylinder fuel economy improvement. Aerodynamics plays an enormous part in reduced fuel consumption for over-the-road diesels. Using Mack/Volvo as an example:

Based on this video, I think we were both incorrect. After impact, you can also see a spray of fluids from (possibly) a radiator hose. I will agree with you that in this example, it does appear as though the powertrain assembly is installed and intact.

I think I answered my own question. Based on the “Proposed Partial Stipulated Order,” it looks like folks who fall into that class are good... provided this is the same language in the final order.
I noted that all of the tables indicate “This table applies if you have owned a vehicle listed below since September 18, 2015.” Any idea what happens with cars purchased since then?
