Oh yeah, I love that book and most of the casting and adaptation. Thankfully, Scorsece cuts out some of the redundant and boring bits, though unfortunately, the typically awesome Harvey Keitel flopped a bit in what was likely the second most important role in the book.

Yet they were so offended when “The Last Temptation of Christ” came out in theaters. I mean, the most offensive part of that was Keitel (rarely) swinging and missing as Judas. And that movie/book was way better than whatever bloodsport/torture/Eli Roth and antisemitic stuff Mel Gibson aimed to gain.

At least Funny Games has a bit of a meta slasher dark humour to it. Irreversible is just dark with barely a plot. Good cinematography though. And I could listen to the intro to “Enter the Void” all day, so while Irreversible is rough, at least Noe knows good people. And, given the setup, Irreversible does kind of beg

I’d add “Toy Story 3" to this.

I’d also go with Vincent D’Onofrio. He’s already proven he can be a bald, pale, buff, sociopath for sure. I’ve seen Dave Bautista in a half dozen films and a decade of wrestling, he’s a way better actor than I thought he’d be, but I’m not sure about his delivery. He nailed Drax, he’s awesome at doing similar readings

Roman is definitely the most self-aware Roy kid, even if he does hide a lot of it in provocateur antics and artisan level sardonic cut-downs. That arc where Gerri sent him to business school (before he screwed up the whole shuttle launch) was a very solid trajectory for him. Recently, he’s the only Roy who actually

But how else are we going to sneak a couple bottles of Nightrain/Thunderbird into the Sunday matinee?

You’re not wrong, but I’ve seen DS9 enough to know what’s going on in the early seasons. So, while I would recommend a first time viewer to check out the first couple seasons, I don’t feel the need to do so myself as I’ve watched DS9 a billion times. Love that early Picard/Sisko showdown, they brought that up again in

I just rewatched the first season and Connor seems way creepier yet also more innocuous than Kendall. Like, he is completely oblivious and will spend millions of dollars to inflate his ego, but a lot of that is just self-contained. Kendall will go out and ruin someone’s life and reputation if they don’t have sex with

Justified and Mad Men are great examples. Even if the quality of Mad Men was slightly less in the final couple of seasons they still told some rewarding stories to tie it all up (mostly) and it was nice watching Kiernan Shipka succeed. And Ken Cosgrove tapdance! Definitely agree with DS9, whenever I rewatch I

I definitely agree about Trek. With the exception of ToS and Picard, which only got three seasons, it really seems to take them a couple years to figure out what works. Voyager got way better after 7/9 showed up, DS9 really took 0ff once Sisko shaved his head and grew that badass beard/Worf showed up/Bashir’s past was

The most recent Hellboy had a great cast and I’m glad they threw Ben Daimio in there because he’s one of my favorite characters. Also, they adapted one of the best chapters of the Hellboy comics with “The Storm and the Fury”, so it was interesting to see how the movie managed to take all those positives and screw up

It’s Kieran Culkin, not Rory, who plays Roman. Though that would be roll off the tongue: Rory as a Roman Roy. Sorry to be pedantic, it’s just Kieran does such a great job as my favorite Roy that I felt inclined to bring it up, and I also enjoyed him in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”

Vault-Tec rep! From FO4. Though I’m guessing instead of adapting one specific story, since they typically have open-ended choices for the ending, they’ll just take the setting and tell their own story with new characters, though likely allude to events going on in other parts of the wasteland.

That’s a solid explanation. The latter, sillier Friday the 13th films just have him as a straight up slasher, but the first two establish his motivation and that of his mother.

“I want to fuck Christopher Meloni” uhmmm get in line! behind his very fancy khaki clad buttocks and dozens of other lads and ladies. Best of luck though, Meloni seems like a catch. Watch “Happy!”

He did use his influence as a cop to get his daughter preferential treatment for her DWI. If manipulating the system unfairly for your progeny isn’t love, I don’t know what is!

Tony Shalhoub on “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and Eugene Levy on “Schitt’s Creek” were both some great choices as well.

I agree, while it would be safer to adapt the comics, as they already exist and have been read and scrutinized and analyzed, there are so many other stories they could create. Would be enjoyable if they did something daring and failed rather than worry about fan backlash.

Snowpiercer came out maybe a year after the first Captain America film, so I still count it as a departure from his norm, and before he got huge (in the films, obviously he’s been jacked for years)
