I told everyone there was no way it was coming out February 24, that From always released trailers months in advance. And look at that, vindicated once again. /smh

I dunno, they look like they desperately need haircuts.
You play it, you have a great time with it (or not), and you move on with your life.
And to reiterate what I’ve said on this site for years (and gotten some deliciously butthurt reactions about): feel free to love things, but don’t be a fan of them. Being a fan means making it a part of your identity, which makes you little more than a mouthpiece for something that only cares about you as long as it’s…
That sounds a lot more likely, yeah. Bad form, Rocksteady.
I could believe that if it were some other kind of bug. But progress like this is usually programmed as flags of various types; server load shouldn’t conceivably affect them, at least not in a widespread manner. Now, server problems causing issues with flags being written at the time? I could see that happening, but…
Did... Did no one on the QA team actually try to log into their own game? I cannot comprehend that basic diligence could have missed a bug this overt. I know this is Early Access, but that’s so far into “not bothering” that it’s mind-boggling.
Look, bud, I know you want to defend it, but bad games can sell for a lot, and have. But sales data is not a metric of quality in and of itself. Based on the 4-point scale (which is a phenomenon widely observed), HL is average, maybe even slightly above average. And I don’t even think it was all that bad. It was…
I played it. I’m not a fan of HP so it didn’t grab me, but I gave it a couple hours. It was fine. Only decent, and not terrible. But definitely not Game of the Year or Best in Insert Category Here levels of good or polish. Definitely better than most tie-in games to be sure.
It’s only the kind of people who use the 10-point scale but believe that it starts with a score of 7 or 8 while nothing else below exist think that it’s a bad score
Review boosting. Tends to happen to games with rabid fanbases that get don’t win awards.
It was a mediocre game that only HP fans cared about after launch. Which is still a hefty number, but being mainly popular among critics (who can’t play games long term and so won’t run into the longevity problems the game has) and fans of the IP (of which there are hundreds of millions at least who generally won’t…
One, From isn’t releasing the controller; they’re licensing it. Two, I feel like it’s pretty obvious when I say “release something”, I’m talking about games and their expansions.
/thumbsup
I know this has nothing to do with the comment I’m replying to, but I’m committing to a non-sequitor.
Unfortunately, that would be next to impossible t0 win in court; otherwise, Microsoft and Sony would have been on the hooks long ago since they both had known exploits and methods on their systems that could allow for Nintendo emulators to be run. To say nothing of Android and iOS, which don’t even require hacks and…
Exposure. The only reason to put it on Steam was to get eyeballs on it; the creator even stated that it was doomed from the start. To me, it reads as a cynical attention grab to get his name out there in a way that a mere github project wouldn’t.
I wouldn’t put too much stock in a February release. When From is ready to release something, they generally start marketing hard in the couple of months leading up to it (like they did with Elden Ring and Armored Core VI). That they aren’t doing that tells me that we’re not getting it that soon.
much ado about nothing
This is your captain speaking. I’m sorry, but your boarding pass is two weeks out of date. You will need to leave the discussion.
