I grew up poor as fuck. The toys I had when I was 5 or 6 were almost all stolen. (I found that out when I got to give them back.) I didn't go to college - not enough money. I got a job for $9/hr right out of high school and thought I was livin' large.
I actually think this may be my biggest disconnect with modern American culture and in some ways Western feminism: I don't think that being a CEO means that you're "better off." Based only on what we've seen through media reports & her personal Twitter account, I'm really glad to read this. No joking, no teasing about her (both of which I'll admit to doing in the past). I'm genuinely hopeful that she's receiving the care she needs to get her life back to a safe and happy place.
