I wish I could give a fuck so I could understand how so many people get so upset about how some game company tries to make a buck while simultaneously ignoring real women's rights issues that do deserve attention.

Yep. I mean they are perfectly free to make those choices. Just as the consumer is free to not support them.

And how did they lie exactly?

I'm so bored of all these fake "outrages".

Why does it matter if Ubi didn't include a female character in their newest game? How is that any different then any of the other developers of other game series not having a lead female protagonist? They at least gave a reason as to why (might not be what you want to hear) but it's something right?

News that Ubisoft scuttled plans for including female playable characters in the upcoming Assassin's Creed Unity was met by scorn and derision by many video game commentators last night. Now, Kotaku has an official statement from Ubisoft on the controversy.

And the fact that this has now been upgraded to a "controversy" boggles my mind.

It makes me a little sad that this is going to be the tin can people beat on for the next few years when there are many more relevant issues in the gaming industry.

And men have hairless chests the size of football fields too. So? Both sexes are grossly displayed in all media, from games to movies to tv and so forth.
