Thank you so much. I have two little guys and my heart tells me she knows how much I loved her. Just wish it had ended differently. But I have gotten so much better at staying in touch with loved ones and telling them how much and why I love them.

April was his and her birthdays, then Mother’s Day, next month is their death anniversary and their 40th wedding anniversary. Just gotta get through those and it’ll get easier. Thank you. 💕
I haven’t heard these, thank you! I listened to Kacey Musgraves’ “Mother” today a few times. So sweeet and sad at the same time.
Thank you!!!! That is so sweet. I had my ugly-cry moments today, but it was a beautiful day. I have my two sweet boys who give me all the strength and I’m determined to show them that life goes on. We miss her and celebrate her but we keep going because life is still beautiful.
Fuuuuck, today is rough. Last summer my dad shot my mother and then himself. This is my first year without her. We were having a rare fight and hadn’t spoken in 5 days and the last text I have from her is “I guess I’m not supposed to have feelings.” All I want to do today is hug her again. Just for one minute. And…
I thought you were thinking what I was thinking - she said she was awoken by the call but she didn’t hear it because she was asleep lol.
Yes, exactly! When I was a kid, I remember wanting a Teddy Ruxpin for like a year and then finally getting one and playing with him until his nose fell off. I know those parents probably justify making the videos by telling themselves it’s going to pay for college/set the kids up for life, but they are going to make…
I ❤️ you. That is all.
Oh, and also I’ll make sure I never mention correcting my kids for negative behavior again for fear people will see it as bragging.
Which is why I said I “PERSONALLY” haven’t seen/heard anyone use that word as an insult in my entire life, but I understand that you are offended by it and won’t use it again. HOWEVER, I did not instruct my boys to use lame (or any other word for that matter) as a replacement for gay, I was using it as a description.…
How is that bragging? I’d say it’s the opposite - I said something negative about my kids, I didn’t praise them for their progressiveness. The exact opposite. But like I said in my prior comment, I was ignorant to the fact that people still used “lame” to insult disabled people and I apologize for that. I have spinal…
I’ve never made fun of a disabled person in my life. And I have never personally heard of/witnessed a disabled person being referred to as “lame.” I’ve only seen it in ancient movies/books. However, I realize that is only my personal experience so I apologize if you were offended but I don’t feel the extent of your…
I did what? That doesn’t appear to be a response to either of my questions.
What did I do to deserve your trolling? Was my comment that offensive?
Right? Mr. Ed would be on the floor of his stall in the fetal position right now if he hadn’t died 50 years ago.
Although I’d argue that the offensiveness of “lame” as an insult pales in comparison to “gay.” And I don’t think kids who are friends jokingly calling each other lame is that terrible. Lame generally isn’t used to describe a disabled person anymore and hasn’t been since I’ve been on this planet.
No, didn’t say the lame was okay anywhere in my comment.
It’s a weird phenomenon - I’ve already posted this link but I’ll do it again. It talks about how some of these videos aren’t overtly offensive but there’s an underlying “creepy” factor that you can’t always put your finger on and that’s definitely how I feel.
Omg, it was dark. Never caught my kids watching it or found it in the history, but read the below article and got totally freaked out. A dad filming his daughters in bizarre situations and they’d both use pacifiers even though they were like 10 years old. I need a shower just from typing that sentence. After these…
What?! That’s crazy. Keep fighting the good fight. One of my sons recently used the word “gay” in reference to something being lame and they got a “HELL to the no” talk from me.
