Someone needs to save us from these sad little kings. There’s a million dictators in America, and most of the time the official government is enabling them, not protecting us from them.

Maybe next time, take a breath and don’t be such a CLINT.

“Evidence indicates that, with the exception of fortified soy milk, many plant-based/non-dairy milk alternatives lack key nutrients found in cow’s milk. Even when these milks have extra nutrients added to them, our bodies may not absorb those nutrients as well as they can from regular milk.”

Technically, the Dowager’s argument was for serfdom, not slavery. But also, she’s meant to sound like a relic—the narrative doesn’t take her side. It’s worth pointing out that, while the Dowager is waxing fondly about tying serfs to the land, it’s another wealthy woman (Sybil) who is defying her father and grandmother

Just be glad she didn’t order a Coldcut, Unpasteurized cheese, No Tomato.

You also left out the part where the family owns Sinclair Broadcasting - that company that recently was in the news for making their on-air talent read that absurd commentary about trying to do balanced reporting and is a total supporter of all conservative causes.  So this dress code is just in line with their entire

Well, I think people noticed. Her statement was supposed to sound ridiculous to the viewer, that was the whole point. It showed she was from a generation with dying beliefs and rules.

Except no, it’s not the same and some white guy on the internet (you) trying to co-opt black murder is pretty awful.

Am I the only one whose grandparents had those little strawberry candies and root beer barrels?

I’ll echo these comments- this article seems needlessly snarky. Also, it implies that Jamil is saying that women shouldn’t think positively about their bodies- it appears her body neutrality comment was mainly talking about weight considering the follow up is this:

I feel this one to my core. The meat suit I’m driving is still running okay (I wish I was physically stronger but that’s the extent of my connection with it). I don’t care about it enough to love or hate it. I just need to keep it responding to commands.

Right? The critique isn’t just that Paterno never called the cops in 2002 or whenever it was McQueary told him about it, it’s that Sandusky raped and molested children for decades while he was a part of Paterno’s coaching staff. Joe did what all of these horrible institutional people do, and simply ignored it hoping

So the movement has be co opted by skinny “socially acceptable” types? I’ve previously been a fan of this site, but this level of gatekeeping is pathetic to the point that I really think its harmful to society. I’m sure Hazel knows that people die every day due to eating disorders (like the one Jameela Jamil had), but

I really like this. Encouraging an “I have what I have to work with, and that’s all there is to it” ambivalence does have a built in “no one chose their body” feel that is inclusive to those with disabilities (which I wouldn’t have thought unless the article included that last paragraph, so thank you for including

Joe Paterno literally got an English degree from an Ivy League institution. The idea that he was too stupid or too consumed by football to know what the word “sodomy” meant is beyond incredible. It’s not even a lie insomuch as it is a flatly inconceivable alternate world.

CW: Weight loss and eating disorders, I guess, though that is kind of the point of the whole article:

Snotty, mean girl bullshit framed as critical writing on pop culture feminism. Gross and pathetic.

He said he never heard of rape and a man. How could his poor feeble mind possibly comprehend the concept? The MFer studied classics at Brown (or wherever).

Umm....WHAT? Could this be any more self-righteous?

As somebody who grew up in Pennsylvania, here is what I have heard about Joe Paterno for 40 years.
