I really love the show and hope it comes back. I think the chances though, are probably like slightly better than 50/50. Agreed. The reality is, he will reach a lot of people who might not otherwise care to learn more about the realities of climate change. People can snark on him all they want, but he has a sizable platform which he is using for a good cause. Good on him.
I don’t think he’s too old for it. Maybe he “should” be, or like 10 years ago everyone would have thought so, but I know lots and lots of 30ish year olds who are still figuring life out and don’t have full fledged careers.
Have you read the recent ‘exit interview’ in Vanity Fair of Obama by Doris Kearns Goodwin? In my mind it totally confirms your first paragraph. He is very aware of both his strengths and his shortcomings.
