I took a dozen or more gruesome screencaps of this scene that weren't quite usable (if one character's too blurry, for example), and they show Violet reacting a split second later, reaching out toward Robert. Reaction times during an emergency can be odd, and I think this scene captures that pretty well. (Apparently,

Good catch, thanks; I somehow made a portmanteau of Richard Grey and Richard Clarkson. I've made the correction, which should show up in a few minutes.

Thanks for catching that; of course, that's correct, and it's also how Barrow addresses him. I'll correct the text.

I suppose the logical next places for AHS to go would be a farm

Thanks for the heads-up; I just saw that tweet, too, and I've already updated the stray observations.

Co-sign. More Kathryn Hahn everywhere, please.

To be fair, they're also not "crediting" The Shining or The Brood or Seven or… should I go on? I shouldn't go on. I can't go on.

I feel like that subtext is intentional here, but maybe I'm giving AHS too much credit.

I quote lines as precisely as possible from a given show; my pre-air screener (and, unless I'm mistaken, the broadcast version; I watched both) bleeped fuck- but not -ing, so that's what I transcribed.

… like that. That is hinting at unaired content, and I hope you'll refrain from it as a courtesy.

I haven't yet screened next week's episode, so this is allllll spitballing. And if I had, I wouldn't speculate or hint about its content; as a courtesy to readers, I hope you'll take care, as I do, not to reveal plot points for unaired episodes in the comments.

Presumably the night vision cameras that recorded Forrest's stay at (and departure from) the reputedly haunted house continued to run, so maybe next week's episode will tell us what, if anything, happens to Mr. MacNeil.

This makes me irrationally happy for some reason.

"I almost feel like I could do that as a monthly show: Conversations With L. Ron Hubbard. I could tour around the country like Hal Holbrook as Mark Twain."
