Thank you!

Thank you!

So to you, what is the difference between "rehashing ideas" and "callbacks" and how do you think our understandings of them differ?

I think the thing that decides it for me is the scads and scads of tiny utterly missable recycling jokes. If you blink (or if you haven't recently watched the entire run of the show, like I did) you'll miss em, but they're all over the place. And they usually don't call attention to them at all—stuff like the dick

I calls 'em like I sees 'em. The alternative to it being a deliberate stylistic choice is… that all the recycled stuff is being done with the idea "this might be sorta neat" and used when they can't think of a new storyline? I certainly hope that's not the case, because I'd really start siding with all the people who

Ha! I was so busy attempting to lip-read what Dennis was singing that I didn't even notice "hold youse." I'm really happy people brought it up, though, because that's really funny.

Always wanted to live on Emily Street.

I've been working as a church pianist for about half my life, and about half of that was in a Catholic church. Without a doubt, I could sing the entirety of it as a soprano, alto, tenor or bass. That damn song's been hopelessly stuck in my head since I watched the screener, actually.

Hee! For the record, I think a lot of writers tend to dive into the comments when they're feeling angry or defensive about something, but the reason that I participate in the comments a lot is… I dunno, why not? It's fun! The potential for reasonable discussions here has been one of my favorite things about the site
