If I was filming noises in the distance, I would probably keep the camera pointed out in the distance rather than waste time pointing it at my fellow survivors to see their reactions...but that's just me.

Most likely whatever mystical force was keeping the vampire out of the dwelling in the first place would keep the transporter beam containing it's particles from entering as well. Whether or not that would send the vampire back to the transporter room or dissipate into nothing is another matter, as I believe both

Would've made a much cooler (and likely more plausible) reveal.

Terrible stuff indeed...but doesn't diminish the awesome moments at all.

At least we got a good finale to that in JLU.
