With the 100% tariffs on Chinese vehicles, even Ray Charles could see that the US learned nothing from propping up Harley Davidson to save it from Japanese motorcycles that were lighter, faster, less expensive, had better fuel economy, actually innovated, and were better in every way. And then again when Japanese auto

What an asshole.  Trump voter?  It shows.

What an utter moron you are. It’s all canyons, tight little roads. You think 70,000 people all trying to move within a few hours would go well?

Exactly, anyone abandoning their car for any conceivable reason, like ANY reason, out of gas, broke down, flat tire, shit fire, is not going to be thinking about leaving their keys. I mean never leaving your keys in your car is kind of drilled into you from the time you learn to drive both to not lock yourself out and

I think people just underestimate just how fast a fire can move A. People are stubborn and will wait until the last minute to start evacuating B. Having everyone leave at once in a panic will bottleneck the street C. especially if they are trying to take multiple cars with them. All and all with lessons learned,

Do you think that someone fleeing a fire is going to think that through? Hey let me leave my keys so they can move my hunk of metal later.

As a Floridian I too would like to send a giant FU to Gov DeSantis

Police and Fire departments ordered them to flee their cars.

Having been caught in fires in 2018 in Malibu you have no idea how ferocious the fire moves through an area. If there’s a traffic jam and it’s not moving at all, you see other people panic and make a run for it. As soon as the car in front does that that screws everyone behind them. It has a knock on effect.

easy to say, you are not sitting in a mile of unmoving traffic with cars already on the shoulder with a fire getting closer in your rearview mirror every minute.

The RW likes to give CA shit for its environmental policies.

Things can be replaced, people can not.

Same reason farmers buy a tractor or some other piece of agricultural equipment?

What kind of racing do they think such a land yacht could engage in anyway?

It’s a victim of the popular internet theme that Chrysler= Unreliable.

“The pacifica just isnt as practical as other minivans”

A cheap car can be restored somewhat cheaply, and an expensive car needing more expensive parts can be restored at a much higher level, proportional to one’s spare change. Where’s the issue? It’s all relative.

To be fair, out side of what part prices are going to be because Ferrari, the vast majority of the issues listed are typical for a car that sat, hopefully indoors, for more than a decade. Basically all rubber parts and fluids need to replaced. It from the outside looking in seems to be in a pretty “normal” condition

I’m not spending the time to figure out what the ‘oil is contaminated’ means - signs of coolant? That would be a disaster, if it was run, but otherwise I’m not seeing a disaster here. Just a car that needs restoration.
