Very much this. The auto manufacturers know what makes them the most money. You push hard on what you want to sell, and ignore the rest. Consumers don’t know they’re being manipulated.

The requirement for brush removal and fire breaks is now a year long requirement in much of southern and central California, from its previous requirement of clearances required only from June through October.  All of the damage occurred under the best of conditions.

Newer battery chemistries are more tolerant of higher charge rates, by design.  So your wish of better batteries has already been implemented.

Do you want a fanboy congratulations or something for mentioning that?

You are half correct.  Until just very recently, the CPUC was on the side of consumers.  If and when the utilities would approach them for their yearly prices increases, the CPUC would tell them to screw off.  Being publicly traded companies, they reduced costs (maintenance and upgrades) to keep stockholders happy.

1st gear: Of course Europe is getting angry. They’ve been here before, they’ve seen it before. The ‘that could never happen here’ is historical fact to them. We should take it as a warning.

And a war breaking out in Eastern Europe.

No.  Can we dispense with this money printing fallacy.  The bloody Romans did it for over a 1000 years, funding war after war and immense infrastructure projects.   It’s not what took them down.

You should be asking, why doesn’t the US do the same to ensure the future of the country?

Seeing how many vehicles ‘the domestics’ sell in Mexico and Canada (that would be the rest of North America for the geographically challenged), taking that chunk of sales away would certainly get the attention of those automakers, and the new morons making economic/political decisions in DC.

Observationally speaking, that Land Rover is essentially a box on wheels.  I’ve seen better aerodynamics on some agricultural equipment.

There is no problem. A government investing in its future and that of the health and security of its people is the proper operation and job of a government. Somehow, a percentage of humanity residing in the United States feels such actions are unnatural and against what the universe intended.

Where do you people come up with these ideas?  Buttonwillow just expanded with new track segments.  It’s not going anywhere.

What an asshole.  Trump voter?  It shows.

Same reason farmers buy a tractor or some other piece of agricultural equipment?

What kind of racing do they think such a land yacht could engage in anyway?

Very provincial reporting.  Report total 500e global sales.  It’s doing quite nicely.

A cheap car can be restored somewhat cheaply, and an expensive car needing more expensive parts can be restored at a much higher level, proportional to one’s spare change. Where’s the issue? It’s all relative.

Agreed.  The OHV engine was practically a tractor engine (looking at a few British makes). The later OHC 2000cc was the more, proper sports car engine.

TR7s were notoriously fickle with the factory dual single throat carburetors.  First stop was a Webers conversion.  But why bother with all the fakery?  They were trying to emulate another successful car of the era, and the TR7 wasn’t even mid-engined.
