Yes, lots. They are harder to clean. They make a mess. Their blades are dull and usually crush than cut. But, most importantly, they don’t “chop” uniformly. Since the cutting action is not uniform, you get a mix of minced and different sized cubes.

I’m a recruiter in the food industry. One of the best (no financial interest) for the industry is “Careers In Food”.

I have an electric blower/vac from Worx. It has a metal impeller that can cut through small twigs easily. The bag it comes with fills up quickly, and gets heavy. They make an attachment that you can place over a garbage can, and that's the way to go. I rake small piles and mulch into a big can with the vac.

I prefer to mow the lawn twice on each diagonal to get a nice criss-cross pattern. This has the added benefit of picking up more debris and clippings. The second time will never require stopping to empty the bag, so it just ends up being another walk - who can't use the exercise?

I will have to add this to my ear candling ritual.
