Agreed. I enjoyed the video, but something about it just seemed off.  They weren’t reacting the way you would if it were really happening live.  There’s no way a couple of those guys wouldn’t have had a “really?? we get a call NOW?!?” reaction.

Didn’t know that! I’m Mexican and I’ve heard a ton of men (including my dad) call their wives “vieja” (which i always found odd). The reddit thread on r/soccer with this video also referred to her as his wife.  Thanks for the link.

I think the translation is bad. He refers to her as “vieja, querida” which literally translates to “old lady, my love”. It’s a term of endearment that I’m fairly certain means his wife gave it to him.
