Baratunde is rad. His Twitter feed is the tits.

Maybe it was The Whole Ten Yards?

INCOMING MESSAGE FROM THE BIG GIANT HEAD

Holy shit. I was loungin' with people earlier, we started talking about Cornell, and I said Soundgarden should get back together.

I'm miraculously not hungover, despite getting rip-roarin' drunk last night.

The chance of me receiving a blowjob, let alone blowjobs plural, is negligible. I'll risk it!

The Washington Post refuses to believe the hype surrounding Nathan's book.

Yeah, the Medicare and social sec. taxes are a flat rate, and the income tax scales with how much one makes. As for why self-employed people pay more, I'm not sure on the logic of that one.

I'm not sure if they have sales tax in Illinois. I don't pay any in New Hampshire, but I do have to pay sales tax in Massachusetts. The federal government doesn't impose any sort of sales tax, it's all up to the states.

I should have mentioned that that brings the total taxes paid to about 40-45 percent for someone who is self-employed, and 32-37 percent for a wage-earning worker. But I'm sure you figured that out without my hand-holding.

The tax rate on 60 grand is about 25-30 percent. For a self-employed person, their social security and Medicare tax rate is about 15% or so, as opposed to about 7.5% for someone who has it taken from their wages. And, yeah, the system is completely fucked up.

Nice write-up
And it is a good book. I enjoyed the hell out of it, at least when I wasn't crying. Manly tears, though. Like from Old Yeller or Beaches.

And insultatrist.

Oh, of the DECADE. Now I feel lame. Still, "Steady As She Goes" grooves way smoother. Nils sometimes starts boppin' too hard.

I didn't know Rhythmic was a genre, either.

SHENANIGANS
"Pacific Coast Highway?" Please. The REAL smooth jazz hit of 2009 is "Steady As She Goes" by Walter Beasley.

Save for being a rapist, yeah, he's a pretty good guy.

You got Bill Goldberg is Santa's Slay.

I'll raise that jack and coke with ya, Motherfucker. Just let me know when, I'm sure some whiskey can find its way into my glass.

Steamed Burgers?
That's blasphemy. Everybody knows that steamed hams are grilled. It's just an expression!
