I dunno, I really enjoyed Gran Torino. It's not up there with his best, but I liked watching Clint be grumpy for a couple hours. He gives me something to model my eventual curmudgeon image on.

I made it through, but it was rough. And I still don't really comprehend some of what was going on. I wanted to read it again, but…

I think all we need to know is that the Judge does something completely unspeakable to the Kid. For the rest of the book, there was no holding back, no shame in showing extreme violence. I got the feeling that whatever happened to the Kid went far beyond any of the other violent acts in the book, which is saying a lot.
