@MajorOutage: Maybe if you're stopped sometime in the range of 0-15 seconds, the amount of extra fuel it takes to accelerate the rotating masses in the engine would be more. But any more than that and it would be more fuel efficient to shut the engine down and restart it. It gets even better when you have a hybrid

@knyghtryda: Some people enjoy being stupid. Why would you want to deny rufus that enjoyment?

@LandofMinos, In Soviet Australia, internet censors you: If your engine is up to temperature, shutting off the engine at a stoplight isn't going to cause it to cool down and contract significantly. And if you are stopped long enough for it to cool down to ambient, you really should be shutting off your engine.

@_slipstream: Yeah, it's bizarre to me that people feel the need to celebrate how much they personally pollute. It's definitely a new kind of smug too. An easy way to get cred among all the other mouth-breathers is to brag about how much extra you polluted today.

@clevemire: So, you're saying that proponents of this measure haven't done everything possible to protect the environment. Therefore, the measure itself is bad? That's a logical fallacy, buddy.

@Ash78, Be Quiet and Drive: Unfortunately, many cars are frickin' huge now. The new Camaro looks good, until you see one in person and realize that it's a whale. Ditto for the Challenger. The Corvette is one of the few cars that's managed to retain its fairly svelte proportions from the C4 'Vette days.

@Beer_Fart: No one is saying that Milton Bradley's behavioral issues is a reflection of his race. All it's saying is that Bradley's behavior makes him a poor role model for black kids who may be getting into baseball. This puts a lot of undeserved pressure on the relatively blank slate of Jason Heyward to be that

Naperville IS full of rich white folk, but I'm still pretty sure none of Duke's players are from there.

@skyln95: EVERYTHING has an impact on your electric bill. As demand for electricity changes, prices will change appropriately. If you don't like it, supplement your energy usage with renewable sources like solar.

@skyln95: Centralized power generation equipment is more efficient and cleaner than your car. So yes, charging your car with electricity off the grid is a cleaner option than using the equivalent amount of energy in gasoline.

Cue the butt-hurt rednecks in 3...2...1...

@collectiveego: Probably not any worse than riding in a GM-made pod-mobile.

@crankyshaft: Bicycles work pretty well too. But yeah, I enjoy walking.

@MissMollyKate: Now if only you were a Hawkeyes fan, with 3 national champion wrestlers, and the team national championship by an enormous points margin.

I dunno, brunette there is kind of a butterface. I like the Pirelli calendar too.

@Dauphine: It's still the jurisdiction of the Secret Service to investigate threats against the President. But anyways, you'd rather the Secret Service show up at his door than the FBI. The Secret Service has a lot more leeway in their actions to ensure the safety of the President, and they can be WAY scarier.

@Jeb_Hoge: The right rotary answer here would be the 20B 3-rotor version. Moar is always better.
