@Mad_Science: I know. Jalopnik occasionally makes mention of it, but nary a word about it in any of the numerous magazine articles they've had. Somehow, the name "Hennessey" has become synonymous with tuner Vipers, and now (assuming anyone's buying these hopped-up Camaros and Corvettes), with GM cars as well.

@Mad_Science: No, it's Hennessey. A car so vaporware it can only be shown in computer renderings. And that's only because whenever any customers sent him their cars, he used them for parts.

@SgtBeavis: Because sites like Jalopnik and magazines like Road and Track keep covering their tuner cars, despite the plethora of other tuners out there for domestic products.

If I had the money to blow on this, I'd just hire Pratt and Miller to work some magic on it. Then, you'd get actual, competently engineered solutions that have been proven to work on the racetrack. And if I really felt the need for more power, Katech or Lingenfelter.

@Alexander Card: So is being "from france" supposed to be an insult?

@LateralGPhotography: Honestly, I don't think Hennessey does much "development". And I don't believe that they have the expertise and equipment to engineer functional aerodynamic aids. They claim to be able to modify so many different cars that all it seems like they do is figure out the quickest way to give the car

@Leeeeena, a Jalopchick: Yes. Yes, you can interest me. After I made that post, I spent about 30 minutes cruising around the Flyin' Miata website, and I totally want a 2nd gen Miata with a 2.0 stroker turbo motor. Use the hardtop roof to hide the cage, keep everything else relatively stock-looking, and go around

@Mad_Science: You don't need more power, you just need more reduction.

@Leeeeena, a Jalopchick: Yeah, I remember the factory turbo Mazdaspeed Miatas. Those were actually my favorite bodystyle as well. The stock turbo was tiny, though. Good for boost response, but were I willing to go aftermarket with a Miata, I'd go for moar power.

I'd rather buy a Miata and get an aftermarket turbo kit than buy the Solstice.

@Thornton888: No, I got a Mechanical Engineering degree. But, somehow, I'm still smart enough to figure it out.

@GasGuzzler: Hey, that's fine, you send your money and your car to him. As for me, I haven't heard anything that he's changed.

@AllBoxedUp: Except that for the same price, you could buy a really, really nice 944 Turbo.

@Flathead Smith: Well, we're still talking about this 4 years later.

@Dhillaz drives a Chevrolet Taco: I don't believe that you have to pay for the basic Xbox Live connectivity. You don't get many features with it, but I still think you can play games online without paying extra. Though I haven't looked lately, so I may be wrong or outdated.

Wow, now THIS post is gonna bring out all the internet toughguys.

@Tanshanomi drives the Cadillac of Lincolns: Yeah, Fuller is really known for the geodesic dome anyways, and not the prototype car he designed, but the geodesic dome wouldn't make for a very good article on Jalopnik.
