Unfortunately the developer thinks that moving to action based is the way to go. That wouldn’t make it“modern” - it just changes the genre. Which is why it will fail- just like the last couple final fantasies.

They need to lock this freak up and toss away the key.

No. Bethesda games still effectively run on Gamebryo. Its heavily modified, but its the same under pinning engine. 

Their “game engine” is actually 21 years old, as it’s Gamebryo. They’ve been using the same one since Morrowind- not just since Skyrim - or even oblivion.
