Oh, without a doubt - that’s very expensive, but it’s also a hell of a lot of car.

Per the VW and Mini sites, the Cooper S starts at $24,400, while the GTI starts at $25,595.

Now, you can option the hell out of them to bring the price up to ridiculous levels. Mine was optioned to about $31k, but after haggling + waiting for the end of the month, I got it CPO’d with 2k miles for below base model MSRP.

You’re right though. F56 MCS isn’t common shorthand for an F56 (2014+) Mini Cooper S 2-door Hardtop.
