The Bently was his personal car. He did drive an Aston DB III or something.
I’m going to keep posting this on Lotus/Aston articles: I want to see Bond back in a Lotus. I love Astons, but let’s change it up! Moore never drove an Aston; it’s not as precious a Bond tradition as we’ve made it.
I only had it for about 30,000 miles and then moved on to another car. I don’t remember there being any issues while I had it, but I do remember being vigilant about oil changes; one of the few modern cars that really did need an oil change every 3,000 miles. Also, be prepared for 14-16 MPG on Premium.
I had a red ‘05 GT that was pretty fun. While the power wasn’t there, the thing handled like ti was on rails thanks to the tiny engine mounted so low, and the aluminum hood, roof, and trunk. It sounded like a jet engine, too since it red-lined at ~9,500 RPMs.
So they did sell a handful of the Bond-edition Z3s through Neiman Marcus around the time of the film’s release, but I think they were ‘96 model years. Those for sure are collector items, but have the same specs (1.9, etc.).
I think you nail it here mentioning the failure rate. We have no idea what that is. Here it was clearly 100%. My guess is it was more mechanical, like a sensor, Li-dar, etc. malfunctioning. However, I don’t know the total population of the data; a 0% failure rate is not realistic, but I’m sure even this specific…
Tech in general isn’t 100%, but I don’t know what the ratio is of these vehicles on the road to accidents. I bet its a lot better than the Gizmodo writers want it to be.
I knew someone would say something stupid like this...
I find it extremely hard to believe that no one at Jalop/Giz/ex-Gawker uses Uber, or exclusively uses Lyft and/or old-school cabs.
Sorry, but I loath these Hoonigan videos.
What’s creepy is that it looks different because they modified it and kept using it. If I were LBJ, I’d be like “that thing has some bad mojo around it and will take a hard pass.”
I’m not going to lie, that’s not a terrible looking car and I think I’d enjoy giving that a test drive.
Sure you do! It’s just BMW doing it now: 3 series, 3 series convertible, 3 series gran coupe, m3...
