I was at the First Look For Charity event for the Chicago Auto Show the year they were touring the new GT. They also had an original GT40 on the stage. I wasn’t anywhere near the Ford stage, but they fired up that classic GT40... inside McCormick Place, and it had to be one of the loudest things I’ve heard in my life.

I had an XJ (RIP Jeena) that either the head gasket split or maybe the block went. Who knows, but I just put it on CraigsList for $600, said it wasn’t running and to bring a trailer. That sucker sold in about 4 hours. I just wish I had asked for more money.

I see the argument for the 787B, but for the exact reason you say it isn’t: A lot of the other cars mentioned by people were designs that didn’t do anything, but here was a radical design, that WON, and yet the very thing that set it apart (rotary engine) really never took off.
