What about period pieces? Remember the original swing music Bethesda made for Fallout 4? Sometimes it’s better to just stick with the real thing.

+1 pill twice a day.
I can almost guarantee that only checking every 21 frames is to save memory and improve the game’s performance. As a rule, if you don’t have to check something every frame for the game to work, don’t.
*shudders*
DS2 hate can get a bit extreme, but I can understand where people who don’t like it are coming from.
I know how you feel. I spent 30 seconds reading your post and I wish I could ask for it back to too.
There’s a good possibility that’s exactly what I’ll do, but the reason would be laziness, not fear of piracy.
I’m not going to throw stones either. I’ve pirated games before (though my piracy/legal purchase ratio is about 1:20). Now that I’m into game development myself I’ve stopped pirating games. If I ever do release my game, I realize people will pirate it and I guess that’ll be my deserved karma. I just really wish at the…
Or just play online on a console with strangers. You’ll be paragon level 1000 within 5 minutes whether you want to or not.
I can’t wait til someone else starts buying gawker properties. Maybe we’ll finally be rid of kinja!
Because this is a Florida lawsuit, they can be required to pay up to $50M upfront. In other words they’re pretty fucked. I’d say chances are very high another company will own most of what is now gawker media within a month or two.
They did change item names, and the art style is quite different, aside from using muted colors (TBH salt and sanctuary doesn’t look great). As well as using a sphere grid instead of choosing stats to level up. The lore is all their own and doesn’t really resemble dark souls at all. I think you’re being a bit unfair…
Yeah, the thing that makes souls games special not really the combat. It’s basically a harder Zelda with more weapons. What makes it special is the care with which they build their games. Loot isn’t loot, it’s the bait for a trap. That big enemy isn’t the threat, the threat is the archers above you that you didn’t…
And on the other hand there’s people like you who probably haven’t even played the game but are still so sure it’s the exact same as souls.
It’s good, but like you mentioned only local coop. It’s nice to be able to revive your friends just by going to a bonfire, instead of having to summon all over again.
I think it’s time we just admitted that “souls like” is a genre. It’s no more a ripoff than call of duty is a ripoff of wolfenstein or doom.
I mean, it’s too good a story to be “so bad it’s good” but clearly they had lots of fun with the dub.
Yeah but the original anime is crap. The new movies are good but only tell the most boring part of the story. Plus they left out the Wyald fight so fuck them. Is it really so much to ask for them to show the first god damn apostle fight?
If a game is shit, I don’t want reviewers to say “there’s room for improvement. 6/10" (and DH’s games are definitely shit).
And? Perhaps Jim isn’t being very nice to them, but that’s not illegal. Unless he said something untrue about them, this lawsuit is going nowhere. And their games are shit to boot. Plenty of indies do way better than these jokers with smaller teams/less money (see undertale or stardew valley for details).
