I finished Robotech. The New Generation/Mospaeda/Invid section is very good, although it doesn't quite stick the landing. Then again, Mospaeda wasn't written for a 3-generation story cycle. The Robotech people did a decent job with what they could get. The background music is classic, all of it, but the in-universe

Try Bud Dry.

We shall see. Seinfeld made a good case for itself, before I knew about this guy. And before I knew about Michael Richards.

I hope the other timelines are having an easier go of it than we are.

Reagan was openly bigoted too and he won in landslides. Welcome to America, it's racist. But Obama's victories were both bigger than Trump's. So America, most of it anyway, can also see the big picture beyond racism.

But none of this is news. Is it? Yes, there are lots of people like that. We still need more votes than the other guy. And to get there, we probably need some of those people. Breaking through their social beliefs would be nice, but how? And how long? We can win some of those people right now on issues of

That's right, they did. My point is they should have been convinced not to. Our side did not get the job done. Any time that happens, we need to examine why and we need to make changes. Can't just say "everyone's racist" and give up.

CA definitely matters, but so does the rust belt. Personally I'm tired of the national democratic party ignoring us. Not tired enough to vote for Trump, but I can only speak for myself.

I think you're probably right, but there has to be some way of reaching them without a full course of psychotherapy.

That isn't true, and asserting it doesn't get us any closer to winning next time. For some people it just wasn't the deciding issue. Clinton campaigned as though it was, and that didn't work. We need a different approach.

More like Animaniacs who find themselves in Lord of the Rings.

From election day on, it won't let me log in. Not sure whether to blame Trump or Putin.

Olympia… It's the water!

Those swathes were going to vote Trump anyway. Socialism works. It's no less important to modernity than democracy is and they both fit together just fine. That's been true since long before LBJ or FDR.

Pence is a legit right wing Republican, i.e. much worse.

I don't think advancing gender-neutralized grammar would be our best move right now. It's time to step back from identity politics and focus on the economy.

If we run someone who uses terms like "Latinx" we will lose to this guy again.

No matter where you say it, you know you will be heard.

Dammit. I saw him play a couple years ago, still great. RIP

Trump and/or his campaign expressed support for several of those ideas. He described universal health care as inevitable while Clinton called it a fantasy, and he's talking about ending student loans after 15 years.
