I also watched them filming the scene where Rob's standing outside Ian's apartment at the payphone in the rain, sitting in my then-favorite coffee shop, Jinx (RIP.) I was amused by the big showers they'd attached to the building to simulate rain. (Of course, because you couldn't depend upon real rain.)

I'm from Chicago, and I saw this when it came out. I was nearly 30, and I identified with it WAY too much, enough that I got really depressed. "That loser up there? That's what you've been doing with your life for the last several years."
