I was thinking the same thing. I have been on a cruise before and it would be an interesting option for retirement as long as you could also afford to pay for the internet when you need it and be able to get all your prescriptions filled.

I know people who did not have great experiences doing it, but yeah, different people want different things from their vacations, and this OMG ALL CRUISES SUCK attitude is silly.

My first cruise was a budget Princess Cruise to the Mexican Riviera, for a week, and I thought it was the best one I’ve ever been on. Even had an interior cabin! To each, their own, I suppose.

Is this the same person who wrote the last article about how awful cruise ships are?

While not my taste, this article almost justifies the whole cruise ship thing MORE for those inclined. I view cruising as (literally) an all-you-can-eat buffet, with sea and some entertainment thrown in. That recipe powered Las Vegas for years, so it’s no wonder it’d work for those willing to pursue the modest

You get the feeling he once went on a budget Princess Cruise to the Mexican Riviera over a long weekend, and is judging the whole industry by that one experience.

Man, oh man! The writer of this article is in DIRE need of a week long cruise!

I’m not personally big on cruises, but it’s clear that people who retire on them do so for a reason.

And if they get bored after one month, at least they discovered for themselves.

“Retirement is supposed to be your reward for lifelong hard work and spent doing something you enjoy...so here’s 1000 words on why I don’t like the thing you enjoy!”

Sure, to be fair our tax money goes for the government buying these kits and masks from the manufacturers. At least they’re using our money to benefit us and not making us essentially pay twice.

The majority of people I see wearing masks now aren’t “decently” wearing them, if they are wearing one at all. They’ve got their nose out, they pull them down to talk, or they just leave them on their chin. An N95 isn’t going to change the way they wear them or encourage those that aren’t wearing them to put one on.

N95s only work when worn correctly, so all of the current cloth mask wearing chin diaper people will still be wearing these incorrectly, as well. This isn’t going to make a difference. We have vaccines and boosters and virtually everyone has had Omicron or knows of someone who has. At this point, I could give a shit

Usually you don’t get the title right off the bat when you buy from a dealer.

Ummm... was this the intended title?

Says the person responding to my comment. By the way, it’s just straight up racism.  Reverse racism is a term that bigots who think their shit don’t stink use.

We’ve already begun stockpiling in anticipation of this. I’ve recently started collecting non-perishable and frozen items for the various holiday dinners we will be having at home which we don’t usually do. I assume more people will be having their own holidays so I’m willing to bet some of these things will be hard

That’s sort of a false equivalence. Breast cancer research is funded far better than any other malignancy even though more people die of Lung, Colorectal, and Pancreatic cancer. More women die of lung cancer than breast cancer by almost 3:2, but breast cancer research gets about 10 times the funding of lung cancer
