@Archetype: That was what I assumed, having just read a stat that 45% of black women in America never marry, (vs 23% of white women. [www.cnn.com] if you're curious.) Then I felt really awful, like a total anti-feminist, assuming that Woman as breadwinner = Woman as only parent.

this is depressing.

Is there a good reason to make her all grubby-looking? Was someone like "we should make her look all dirty, since she probably was"?

I take issue with these weird ass questions:

Ah, Bill. I heart still.

YAY! YAY, yay, YAY! No more jumping around the page! WOOOOO!

@ItchykooParker: I agree. The sense of dread that's invaded the campaign has got a lot of Dems down...and I think that's a momentum-killer.

@Cuteasabutton: Ah, hedgehogs ride the fine line between hideous and cute. It is my favorite line of all...

It's a terrifying notion that the quality/type of health care a woman (or man) receives could be dependent on the personal beliefs of the provider. I find that repulsive...and depressing.

@elizabklyn:in case anyone else wants to send some $ Barack's way:

I donated to Obama today and my contribution was matched by another donor. Pretty sweet, eh?

@Archetype: I might be one of the "reasonable people" of which you speak. I am pro-choice largely because I feel that my personal beliefs, whatever they are or end up being down the road, shouldn't have any bearing on other folks' right to do as they please. I also suspect that if I got knocked up right now, I'd abort

@PinkSoxHat: I'm pro-choice and semi-Catholic as well. Religious interference in politics makes my blood boil.

Yeah. I never really pay much attention to her. I've been way too distracted by my Palin-hatred, I guess. :)

assuming "baby weighing 13 months, 4 ounces" = 13 lbs, 4 oz — that is a HUGE BABY. Yow.

@Namennayo: She knows what it's like to worry that you are pregnant when you don't want to be...

@LaFemme: OK, that made some soup come out my nose, there. Anything with "crust" in it is a winner.

waiiiiit a minute - Palin wasn't tapped for the VP slot till August. I don't think McCain even knew he was picking her back in May!

@sybann: if one of my (many) housemates wasn't allergic to cats, I would take yours in a heartbeat!
